CMO Regional Training Fairhope 2026

Strengthen Your Core:  Fundamentals of Municipal Government

Looking for in-person training in a city or town near you? Are you an elected official and aspiring to achieve the designation of Certified Municipal Official?  This training is for you!  Join other elected officials, and municipal personnel for the 2026 CMO Regional Training.  This year, the League’s Legal Team will lead one-day trainings on fundamental topics in municipal government, a Legislative Update and additional presentations.  Officials should only register for one of the regional training sessions as the agenda is the same for each event.

Notice:  Event registrations require a unique valid email address for each registrant that is checked regularly since the email address is used to communicate important event information, i.e., event confirmations, CMO credit form & survey link, and event updates.

CMO Credit Hours:  This session is approved for eight (8) credit hours in the Basic, Advanced and Emeritus Programs.  Six sessions meet elective core curriculum requirements.  Credit hours are not awarded for duplicate training in the core curriculum.  Only municipal elected officials receive credit hours in the CMO Program.

Registration Cancellation:  Any cancellation(s) 14 days prior to the event date will result in a $25 cancellation fee. Any cancellation(s) within 14 days of the event date will result in a 50% charge of the full registration fee.  Additionally, if not cancelled within 14 days prior to the event date, any attendee that has registered and not submitted payment will still be subject to a 50% charge of the full registration fee. The League reserves the right to cancel any CMO Regional Training session for which 30 or fewer participants are registered.

Substitutions:  Municipalities may request to substitute a municipal official or personnel for an event registration that would otherwise be cancelled.  The request must be submitted via email to Kerri Butler, member services associate, prior to the event date.

Registration Transfer:  If an event registration would otherwise be cancelled, and there is an upcoming CMO Regional Training event in the same year with space available, a registrant may request the registration be transferred to another CMO Regional Training event. The request must be submitted via email to Kerri Butler, member services associate, prior to the original registration event date.  This event transfer option is not permitted for registrations where the registrant was a No Show for an event.
